had you guys been planning on moving or was this a recent development?
bigger place, better place? better neighborhood? do tell. want to know what i should be looking for/avoiding when we begin the apartment search.
ps….looks like our house SOLD!!! keep your fingers crossed that there are no bumps in the road to “closing”!
Meg, such great news about your house. I always hate this stretch of time, when it’s sold and you have your hopes up, but it hasn’t closed yet. (Now that wasn’t very helpful, was it?) I have my fingers crossed for you!!
Regarding our vagabond existence, this is our third neighborhood and fourth apartment in Buenos Aires, for a long set of complicated reasons. This last move involved getting closer to the school and downsizing a bit since my brother was no longer in Buenos Aires. So far we are very happy with the apartment, with some small minor exceptions. The owners seem nice and responsive and we love love love the neighborhood. If we could get the Internet up and running, it would be perfect. Supposedly someone is coming to look at it by tomorrow…we’ll see.
Re: apartment hunting, my next post is going to be a two-parter relating all of the lessons I have learned renting temporary furnished apartments in Buenos Aires and will also feature reviews of the agencies with which we have worked! Hopefully it will be helpful.
